Diploma and Advanced Diploma to Degree pathways are now available for
OPEC College Alumni at Southern Cross University (SCU).
By applying for Advanced Standing at SCU and being granted credit for your Diploma towards a particular Degree, an OPEC College Alumni can achieve significant cost savings. You also have the advantage of completing your degree sooner, and having enjoying better career choices with the potential for promotion a little closer.

How does it work?
You apply for admission and Advanced Standing with SCU. You attach your OPEC Offer Letter or, Confirmation of Enrolment, or Transcript/Statement of Results and Qualification Certificate to receive credit for your prior OPEC learning and articulate into the first or second year of a Bachelor Degree or Masters Degree with SCU. Then, with some additional study, you can achieve a higher qualification.
Credit offerings vary between different courses depending on your OPEC College qualification and what you would like to study at SCU, with some Diploma to Degree pathways offering a 33 per cent course credit and Advanced Diploma to Degree pathways offering 50 per cent course credit.
What does SCU offer?
Southern Cross University
offers a broad range of courses including Business and Enterprise,
IT, Law and Justice, Arts, Social Work, Community Welfare, Tourism and Hospitality,
and Education, with most faculties providing a multitude of pathway options for
graduates of OPEC College.
For example, an OPEC
College student holding a Diploma of Business could use the pathway to study an
SCU Bachelor of Business and Enterprise that offers guaranteed entry with 8 units (96 credit
points, 1 year or 33 per cent) credit towards the SCU Bachelor Degree.
An OPEC Alumni holding an Advanced Diploma of Marketing and Communication could use the pathway to undertake the SCU Bachelor of Business and Enterprise Majoring in Marketing, with 12 units, (144 credit points, 1.5 years or 50%) credit awarded into the SCU Bachelor Degree.
An OPEC graduate of the Graduate Diploma of Management (Learning) could use the pathway to undertake the SCU Master of Business Administration with 6 units, (48 credit points, 8 months or 37%) credit granted into the SCU Master of Business Administration. The learning achieved in the Graduate Diploma will be considered by SCU in conjunction with your industry experience, on-the-job training and participation in professional development programs to maximise the potential for 2 additional units of credit.
